Courmayeur
From the foot of Mont Blanc, you have a magnificent view of the Aosta Valley, where mountain valleys, woodlands, and ski slopes weave a beautiful pattern. Courmayeur is surrounded by 14 four-thousand-meter peaks.
This resort was popular among the British in the XVIII century thanks to its thermal springs and healthy climate. Courmayeur is now one of the most luxurious and fashionable resorts, with excellent hotels, trendy stores, and the world-famous Congress Center. The piste network is a real treat for athletes. The slopes are mostly of medium difficulty, but there are also black runs, known from international World Cup and European competitions.
Courmayeur, together with Chamonix in France, forms one huge international skiing area.

From France: through the tunnel under Mont Blanc. Chamonix 22 km – Geneva 87 km. Lyon 222 km – Annecy 94 km.
From France or Switzerland through the Gran San Bernardo tunnel.

It is nice to walk along the beautiful streets of the resort. Here you will see the medieval Malkuin Tower, parish church with Romanesque bell tower. Every spring Kurmayor hosts the Carnival of the Masks, and on Valentine’s Day – February 14 – there is a festive procession with folk dancing. The opening of the season on December 30 turns into a colorful spectacle, the final chord of which is the descent of athletes with torches from the summit.

Off-piste
Courmayeur is well known for its off-piste skiing opportunities. The elevators from Youla and Arp take riders to a world of steep slopes, perfect snow and flawless turns. The pastures and forests of Courmayeur remain a blank canvas all winter long, on which you can draw your own line of descent after a snowfall.
